Home Visits

It is usually preferable to consult patients at either of the surgeries. If a home visit is necessary please contact the practice before 11:00; this will enable doctors and the emergency care practitioner to plan their rounds and avoid unnecessary delays.

Remember, visits are for those who are housebound or who are too ill to travel to the surgery. Lack of transport is not a reason for a home visit.

Late or non-urgent requests will be at the doctors discretion.

Following discharge from hospital patients are not automatically visited by their GP. Patients are normally visited for medical reasons or complications only.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the surgery in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
